Arno Schuurs

Arno Schuurs has been working on the concept for Qrooz since 2004. “I started thinking about the ideal home and office. It needs to be spacious, but also flexible, attractive and mobile. And the same requirements apply to the location in which it stands. Sometimes you need the peace offered by nature, and sometimes you want to hear the heartbeat of a European world city. The one thing you don’t need is yet another compromise in your life.”

Freedom exists. In the form of a boat that also offers the characteristics of a comfortable home. Arno made contact with creative designers and suppliers. Like designer Huibert Groenendijk, who translated his ideas into a remarkable design for a product that didn’t exist yet.

In the space of four years Qrooz has become everything Arno had imagined. The first boats have been sold and the original model has been refined. And almost every day sees the discovery of another small improvement, just chatting over coffee.
